Puerto Madryn & Península Valdés

Península Valdés is one of South America's richest wildlife national parks. Situated in the northern part of Patagonia and approximately 18h by bus south of Buenos Aires it is world famous for being home to huge sea lion and sea elephant colonies. Equally amazing are also the whales, orcas and tonina dolphins which can be seen in this part of Argentina's coast, although mostly during the southern hemisphere's winter and spring. This part of Argentina also hosts the world largest magellanean penguin colony in the world. Almost unique in the world is a very friendly sea lion colony where it is possible to go diving and snorkeling with juvenile and incredibly playful sealions. Swimming in the water with these completely wild but so funny and cheerful animals was a experience hardly to forget. As far as we know there are only few places in the whole world we it is possible to get so close to these animals in their natural habitat. As we jumped into the icy water curios sea lions started to explore and tackle us as we were one of them allowing us to touch and play with them. Simply amazing!
